That's o.k., I already know what you thinking; and really, it is o.k.
"Just what this world needs, another weight loss success story", right?
And that is exactly right! That's the same stratagy that marketers use to get you to buy their brand of product isn't it?
"Buy ABC because ABC is the best in the world...You'll never go wrong with ABC on your shelf because ABC is a revalutionary new product brought to by ABC Inc.".
Well, maybe this will be the one to make it click for YOU. Maybe not, it is your choice after all.
I am a real person who was quite content with a real problem. That's right! I didn't struggle with ANYTHING, and that was my problem. I was comfortable with myself and all that I had ammassed over the years. Of course deep on the inside I had acknowledged that I was indeed overweight and was even repulsed with what I saw in the mirror. But I refused to do anything beneficial about it.
I thought about exercise. I talked about exercise. I thought about eating right, and I even talked about eating right...all while eating my $0.99 McDondald's double cheeseburger. I had every excuse in the world to not go exercise. No time...No money...I got this injury...I got that ailement...there's too much traffic in my neighborhood...my kids gotta this and that...my spouse doesn't this and that...my mom...my dad...well I, you get the picture don't you? Because I bet you can pick out at least one or two to throw at me right now and follow it with a thousand other reasons why else you can't get moving!
Look people! I am a real person with a real problem....And I did something about it! As I begin this journal, I am working on having lost no less than 60lbs. I did nothing special except stop making excuses for my inactivity and got off my butt.
To date I only have a few pictures to post and will do so sparingly. But what I have accomplished IS real, and was done with my own blood, sweat and tears.
As I end this first post, let me encourage you to find one reason to do this for yourself. Whether it be for better health or a better self image, just find one good reason. This requires nothing more than a minutes thought. Now, just imagine what you could do with that thought once you've gotten to the end of your "Fifth Mile". Does a fifth mile sound like too much? Well it doesn't have to be, because the begining is just a 22in step....LET'S GO!!!
